Boxing Day. Failford Inn.

Boxing Day. A perfect day ... so relaxing with lots of fun. Stopped off at The Failford Inn for a glass of mulled wine, a prize winning beer, and a walk along the river Ayr. We hadn't been this way for more than a year. Surprised to find The Inn ... set up about 150 years ago as a coaching inn ... had changed hands ... no more home-made beer or glasses of mulled wine! The coal/peat/wood fire with its cast iron top oven and rotating shelf is in working order tho' ... no more bellowing smoke, smut and smog! The interior is brightly decorated with a restaurant overlooking a neat little garden which slopes down to the river. Boxing Day, the garden is crisp with a sprinkling of frost on ice.
